27 Days to SW EP8 – Creatures of A New Hope – Figrin D’an
Mos Eisley Cantina would not be the same without the Cantina Band. I’m not talking about some crappy house band. I’m talking about Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes!
I was into them when they first started out 40 years ago before they made it big. They were just an indie band looking for any gig they could get. But the Cantina was their usual hang out. They played Jabba’s Palace a few times, but you know, a gig’s a gig. But now they’re big time, signed with a major. Some posers think they sold out, but what do they know.
The Nodes still play the Cantina ’cause they remember everyone there that supported them when things were rough. And the Cantina is family and they just want to give back. Sure it’s a bit seedy and it can be a little rough, but if you’re a real fan, it’s worth seeing them where it all started. You know those posers from the Core Worlds would never be caught dead in a dive like the Cantina. But this is the best way to see them, in a intimate setting, not some huge coliseum on Coruscant. And being in the Outer Rim allows them to cut loose and really rock out. And Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes are still rockin… even 40 years later.
