Thank you for revealing what has alway been true: Satch is the One True Face of the Olympic Spirit. That spirit has a gourd-like nose!

Is Satch blue because of the Olympics? Or did he get a dye job for the mascot role?

I ask because I’ve always pictured him brown. Like a Sasquatch.

    Does Satch wear Olympic footwear?

Thank you Craig G. for your fascinating questions. Although they seem easy to answer they are quite difficult to say in english. Satch™ is blue for many reasons. First and foremost is to get paid. Learning Portuguese wasn’t easy but a contract is a contract. And “blue” was requested by the olympic mascot committee as to represent this little ball found in the universe named Earth. Fortunately Satch™ has the keen ability to adapt his textured surface to any color he deems fit. Chameleons learned this from him. So this was easy pesos for Satch™.

I have pictured him brown as well. But Satch’s™ color cannot be defined as a color per se. Most have seen him black and white, absent of any color as not to upset all the colors. From periwinkle to harvest yellow to PMS death magenta, Satch™ seeks none. But on occasion if you catch him in his home city of Yonkers, you might be surprised of what color you see!

Although Satch™ doesn’t like to admit it he does wear special shoes. Olympic footwear? No. A foot cover of sorts? Yes.
